Dell recently revealed a completely new Windows 7 tablet that’s aimed straight at businesses. The 10-inch tablet hasn’t had any more details or specifications released, just a mere teaser from Dell. But it would look like someone at Dell forget to stick a password on their computer as a full release schedule for the company’s tablets and smartphones has somehow found its way onto the web overnight.
According to this “leaked” release schedule, the Windows 7 tablet could be in the hands of consumers as soon as mid-May with a follow up device to be launched in January 2012 running Windows 8.
The leak comes courtesy of Android Central who say they got the plans from a reliable tipster.
The plans include information on a handful of Android devices as well as four tablets.
The main Windows 7 tablet we’re looking at here is “Rosemount” which is the 10-inch wooden mock up we saw last week that I mentioned earlier. That tablet looks set to arrive in mid-May with a second tablet called “Peju” set to be revealed in January running “Windows 8″
Now this could just be pure speculation by Dell as Microsoft have made no announcements to date on any release date or features that will be in Windows 8. All they’ve told us is that Windows 8 will support ARM architecture so the OS could run on a wider range of devices.
I really wish big companies like Dell would hurry up and get into the tablet market, Apple have had it all to themselves for nearly a year and only recently have we started to see some viable competitors enter it.
